The Signal Mountain Storm 96 girls’ select soccer team competed in the U12 girls Platinum division of the Sugar and Spice Soccer tournament in Douglasville, GA during the weekend of November 17th and 18th. Storm 96 recorded a tie versus Carrollton Crew, and wins versus Cobb Strikers Red, GA and Cobb Strikers Black, GA to reach the final. In the tournament final Storm played the Carrollton Crew from Georgia for a second time. This time Storm 96 won an exciting game 5-1 to claim the championship. Playing in the highest tournament division Storm 96 enjoyed strong competition and were pleased to finish as tournament champions with a 3-0-1 record, scoring 11 and conceding only 1 goal during four tournament games.
