Signal Mountain Storm 96 girls’ Finalists in Ocoee Cup soccer tournament The Signal Mountain Storm 96 girls’ select soccer team competed in the U12 girls division of the Ocoee Cup Soccer tournament in Cleveland on September 22nd and 23rd. On Day 1 Storm 96 recorded a 5-0 win versus McMinn United from Athens and a 3-3 tie versus the Knoxville Outlaws Orange. These results put Storm 96 in the final on Day 2 where they met the Lady Speed from Knoxville. In a highly competitive and entertaining game, the score was 0-0 after 60 minutes of regulation time and still 0-0 after an additional 20 minutes of extra time. The final had to be decided on penalties and the Lady Speed scored one more penalty than Storm 96 to win the tournament. The Storm 96 team is shown with their trophies.
